“I am wild about my aunt Tulle. It is much more comfortable to visit aunt Tulle here at Midtsjælland, than to be in Copenhagen. I love the Ringsted area. I know people and am fascinated with the nature. Here it is beautiful, no matter whether it’s raining, snowing, or the sun is shining“, said the world star Viggo Mortensen, when he visited Ringsted Kongrescenter yesterday to promote his new movie “Alatriste”. “I mustn’t forget to say, that I love the food here on Midtsjælland. I eat much too many “basser” (a sort of Danish pastry). Aunt Tulle knows all about that“, says Viggo Mortensen. Viggo’s beloved uncle Henry had seen the movie, so it was only Viggo’s aunt Tulle, who was beside him yesterday. Tulle Olsen is as politically interested as Viggo. She is a member of the town counsel in Ringsted, as a represent for the cross political local list “Land og By” and has recently joint Naser Khader’s new party Ny Allliance.

The son too
Viggo had already been to Denmark last weekend with his 19-year-old son Henry, who is named after the uncle, to have a summer holiday with his family members on Midtsjælland. He has visited both uncle Henry in Jystrup and aunt Tulle in Snekkerup. The 19-year-old son has gone home to Los Angeles, where he will recite poems at a reading. He is artistic, following in his father’s footsteps. Viggo Mortensen has himself published three colections of poems. About the Ringsted area, Viggo says: “I often came here as a kid and enjoyed playing in the woods near uncle Henry’s farm. It was here I played with my first wooden sword”, says Viggo Mortensen, who later became one of the world’s most famous sword fighters because of his role as Aragorn in “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy. In the movie “Alatriste”, Viggo shows several times his skills with the formidable sword.

Christmas candles
After the movie, Viggo answered questions from the public and presented the Spanish flag from The León province (Alatriste’s home area) to aunt Tulle as a gift for Ringsted Kommune. He closed the evening by writing several hundred autographs, especially to young girls, who got Christmas candles in their eyes being so close to the beautiful Viggo. In the movie “Alatriste” Viggo plays the Spanish Capitan Alatriste, who fights his first duel at the age of 17 and kills his opponent. The movie contains all the elements of plots, treachery, war and love, that the modern musketeer movie must have.
