Hollywood actor Viggo Mortensen was in attendance as San Lorenzo continued this centenary celebrations on Wednesday night and professed his undying love for the club during the festivities.

Mortensen, who has starred in such films as Lord of the Rings, A History of Violence and Alatriste, spent eight years of his childhood living in Buenos Aires and during that time he developed an affinity with San Lorenzo, a love that he continues to follow up until this day.

The forty-nine year old was in attendance at the Estadio Pedro Bidegain on Wednesday night and spoke - in perfect Spanish - about his devotion to the club to the thousands of supporters who had packed out the stadium for the celebrations.

"I am a fan for a long time. I speak of San Lorenzo everywhere. I have escaped the set to be here and I do not know if they will be in favour with where I am, but it does not concern me if they understand, for I truly understand...

"The day after we won the title undefeated, all the boys in school started to appear in the shirt of San Lorenzo and I said to them, were you not for River or Boca. There is true heart required to support this club."

Mortensen is a regular figure at the Pedro Bidegain and when he signed the contract to make the movie Appaloosa, he made sure that he would be allowed to travel to Argentina to watch San Lorenzo in action throughout the filming process.

Later on, at the Ministro Pistarini International Airport, Mortensen spoke some more about the club when questioned by reporters.

"I came because I feel passion for San Lorenzo, because it is something that I always understood and that I incorporated into my life from when I was child," he affirmed.

"I felt very happy among the people on Monday's night of great joy as we marched down to the place where our glorious Old Gasómetró once was, a ground that we remember with much nostalgia and without which we suffer.

"Many people say to me that I am supporting from the outside, but I feel like a supporter right at the heart of the club. The greatest honour of my life is to be part of El Ciclón," he concluded.
