Ever since I first read Lord of the Rings as a tall, skinny, ugly 14-year-old, I have waited for Aragorn to come & sweep me off my feet. I wasn't too sure that Viggo Mortensen was the right person to play the man of my dreams; after all, "my" Aragorn was definitely NOT like the character Viggo plays in GI Jane! So I was fully prepared to be unimpressed. Instead I was open-mouthed through the whole film. Viggo IS Aragorn. He manages to combine being quiet and sensitive with a wonderful ferocity when he fights. And the smile on his face when he turns to fight the Uruk-Hai. Oh. My. God. It may be very sad of me to admit to a rampant girlie crush at my age but, sad or not, I want this man! :) And I have a terrible pain in my guts from the knowledge that he isn't likely to be riding round Suffolk in a damsel-sweeping exercise any time soon. As well as being gorgeous and a pretty fine actor, Viggo also paints and writes poetry. I have way too many pictures of Viggo for just one page, so I now have a site devoted entirely to him. You can find it here.
