Wet Dog

Cringes, hides as we do from affection. Head pulled away, looking out sideways from behind raised shoulder blades, squeezing itself into the mildewed back corner of the half-tiled, half-rotten cement shower stall with quaking wet legs. Peeing on the plastic curtain, afraid of the beating it lives to wait for.
